B500 – Rhys Millen Racing 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Its no secret in the world of Forza Motorsports 3 the Subaru WRX Sti is a very deadly weapon, but the Dig man has taken it a step further with the Tweaky Tuned and Paint Ugly Collab releasing the RMR Subaru WRX STi. Without going into detail, this is the sort of car that wins races, sets personal best, and lands you a respectable time on the Forza 3 leaderboards.
Marty VDubz commented: ,” Tune and paint are great. The tune is so grippy and yet has the speed, the only thing that showed to me was when it hit the floor coming round a corner, but knowing my driving it was mainly me taking the corner to fast. Was close to beating my PB around Camino until i broke to late. Paint is simple yet fantasic. There is some real depth in it that i had a hard time showing.”
TfR weman43 commented: Picked this one up today and it’s a great car – yet again ! Well done, I only had time for a very quick run at Ladera Mini and even I managed a PB sub 25 for LB #58 on a track I don’t really like. The car handles the turns and changes in direction really well, excellent grip levels and performance – with a lovely engine note to match. Really good job on this one. I’ll be spending alot of time in this car in the near future.
Forza Motorsports 3 TfR Guru Full Review:
Ok the sales thread gave no clear indication of what type of tracks this car specialises in so with knowledge of my other tweaky cars I go for a mix of power short tracks and more technical shorter tracks. My test tracks are therefore: Suzuka east, Iberian full, Ladera full and Ladera short.
First up was Suzuka east. This has become one of my favourite tracks over the game and I really love throwing the car through the s bends. The car shoots off I decide that a 9lap stint is sufficient to get a good feel for the car and how it will handle for me. The car is very planted but will step out if the power is applied to early through the corner. There is a tad of oversteer on the tricky last turn but I manage to adapt my line to eradicate this. The end result is a 52.594 not a Pb but good for around 700th on the boards. I’m a little disappointed by this as it felt a lot faster but still a good start and I’m impressed by the car.
Next up is Iberian full. One of my average tracks that when I hook it up I’m good round but when it goes wrong I’m at the back like Hispania. The car is right on the line of too much grip but for me it feels balanced and suiting my style very well. The end time is a 54.099 a PB but only good enough for 1,181st on the boards. Again I’m a bit disappointed the car feels very quick yet so far my laps aren’t showing it.
However after pondering this I realise these are the 2 power tracks of my choice and maybe the car is better at the technical ones.
Moving on to one of my favourite tracks Ladera full. The car is very smooth here and I beat my Pb after just 3 laps. From then on it’s a case of building on what I can and nailing a lap. I do notice that the oversteer is back in the last turn and this loses me a couple tenths of a second. I finish with a lap of 50.443 which places me a very good 182nd on the boards. This is more like it the car works very well here and feels great taking the bends smoothly and efficiently.
My final track therefore is Ladera short. Daunting for me is the fact that my Pb here is already 142nd and held by the very impressive SW2 Impreza. I set off and instantly feel the car working for me. The grip generated is superb and the front of the car is turning incredibly well on the tight tricky middle section. Little hints of oversteer again but nothing to cause me too much worry. My final lap is a 31.153 is again a Pb placing me 113th, however what’s more annoying is that an uncertified lap of mine would have put me around 80th. I’m very impressed by this car and how it tackled the technical short tracks.
The car has very impressive acceleration not just out of the box but also out f the turns. You have the power available instantly and it’s very controllable. However place the power down to early and it’s not always the same story (picture above). For your short spurts then this car is great but lose your focus and it will let you know.
The paint for me is understated but well executed. The logos are nicely made and the red suits this car very nicely. The yellow lining around the black section on the hood is smoothly finished and the small logos in yellow stand out on the black background.
had time for two online races with this car here’s how they went.First up was road Atlanta club. I instantly knew this was too much of a power track for this car and therefore I had to hit the turns perfectly to get the best run out possible or else suffer the shame of defeat.I took off getting into turn 1 in the lead thanks to the cars acceleration. I manage to hold this all the way along the long bend as the battles behind me got very heated not just on the track. Coming out of the chicane I manage to get a great exit and lead into lap 2. However the ca behind was gaining and fast. I put my head down and pushed the car as well as I could. Going round the bend on lap 3 he’s right behind me and pulls out to go up the inside of the chicane. I’m having none of it and move my car across (not Vettel style) to block him off. He yields and I hold the line. He however gets a great run off the last few bends and is right in my slipstream going round the final bend. He takes the lead into turn 1 only to run off at the chicane at the brow of the hill. I jump back into first and manage to hold it for the rest of what was an epic race. Congratulations are shared at the end and I go get a well earned drink after a brilliant race.Surely the second race couldn’t live up to this.
The track was Iberian full. I start at the back and sit back through turn 1 in fear of being taken out. Going over the hill 2 cars hit into each other mid-air dropping them to the back of the field. I keep going but the front two cars are gone leaving me to battle for third. I pull clear on lap 3 and finish on the bottom step of the podium knowing that’s the best I could possibly do.
Overall this is a must have car. For short technical tracks it’s very very good and I expect someone with more talent then me would easily put this car in the top 20 around tracks like Ladera short. The most impressive thing to me about this car is how easy it is to drive and just how hard you can push it without it snapping back at you. This therefore is another great Tweaky car and a must have short track car for anyone’s garage.
