In the opinion of the author, Julian Assange, the founder and owner of Wikileaks, is one of the most dangerous terrorists on the face of the earth. His total lack of regard for the lives of people he endangers is the true measure of his misguided ideology. This entity came onto the global scene in December 2006. In an interview with Wired magazine, Assange describes himself as “ the heart and soul of this organization, its founder, philosopher, spokesperson, original coder, organizer, financier, and all the rest”. Thus, he clearly sites that the true measure of the damage this organization does lies clearly at his feet. He accepts responsibility by the description he employs above.

WikiLeaks says its purpose to provide information and news to the public. They encourage whistleblowers and informants to leak confidential information for the purpose of disseminating it regardless of the consequences. Our forefathers were adamant when they stated that power without restriction corrupts. This entity is perhaps the greatest present day example of this axiom. They describe themselves as “ an uncensorable system for untraceable mass document leaking”. Through the use of encryption and bulletproof hosting, WikiLeaks maintains multiple sites to receive these leaked documents. He encourages people who are afraid of criminal prosecution for leaking sensitive information to use his organization to protect themselves. He sees his entity as an information clearing house which will expose all information regardless of the political or personal consequences.

Many countries have found his organization to be illegal and dangerous. By his own admission, Assange has stated that the only two countries in which he would feel safe would be Iceland and Switzerland due to their domestic laws. His funding has been a constant struggle and question.

The organization is rife with internal struggles as well. Conflict between Assange and his key subordinates has led to several key defections from the organization. Assange himself has been deluged with personal problems stemming from a rape charge. It is easy to see the caliber of man he is and knowing he is in a position to damage individuals and governments without fear of reprisal is truly a dangerous combination.

It is the opinion of the author that this man and his organization are no less dangerous than other terrorists and should be treated accordingly.

President Barack Obama has gone too far. His callous handling of the Health and Human Services Ruling that requires all companies and hiring entities provide access to birth control options is a direct attack against the teachings of the Catholic Church. Would this be tolerated if the attack was against Muslim beliefs? Would this be tolerated if this attack was against Jewish beliefs? More to the point, would this attack be tolerated if it was against the beliefs of Reverend Al Sharpton?

Melinda Henneberger in her article in The Washington Post makes a convincing argument that by the president’s recent actions, he has effectively declared himself a
secularist who looks down on believers. Obama’s argument that most women use birth control, including Catholic women, simply misses the point completely. If 10 people jump off a bridge, should we all jump off a bridge? Obama offers up as his reasoning a total capitulation to expediency! If it works, regardless of the consequences, let’s go for it! What rubbish! It’s time we had a leader with some semblance of moral fiber!

Last election, Catholics favored Obama 54% over John McCain’s 45%. This is by no means a gimme for the next election. Catholic Bishops all over the land are denouncing Obama’s original stance and his obvious and devious exercise to skirt the issue with his “compromise”. Most church leaders have also denounced this ploy as well.

Charles Kadlec in his Forbes article simply belies the audacity of our president by his recent actions on the HHR bill in question. As Kadlec alleges, Obama is on the brink of successfully rendering the first clause of the first amendment moot. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. It is Kadlec’s contention that Obama is heralding the concept that it is the government, not our creator, that gives people the right of religious freedom. This outlook simply trounces the nation’s founding principles as stated in the Declaration of Independence. The most moving and convincing statement in Kadlec’s article is his confession that he is NOT a Catholic. However, his belief in our country’s core values including religious protection, underlines his fervent hope that in this instance, the Catholic Church will champion the more general principal held sacrosanct that our founding fathers got it right concerning our unalienable right to religious freedom.

GOD BLESS AMERICA not Obama Bless America!

Am I the only one tired of hearing about all of these homeless people and college students protesting about how someone has it better than someone else? If you don’t like your situation get a job or at least look for one instead of protesting. The only way to better yourself is to work for it. I don’t care about who pays more or less in taxes. I rely on my skills and abilities to get me to where I want to be in life. If that takes getting two jobs then so be it. I am not going to blame anyone one person or group for why I am not where I want to be in life. So I say to all the protestors man up! I would have more respect if you tried to change your life through your hard work. Protesting isn’t going to get you where you want to be. I am just sick of listening to all of the whining out there.
